Moong dal Khasta Kachodi in Airfryer

Khasta Kachodi ...A very special moong dal kachodi...

My family loves these kachodis very much....

Traditionally kachodis are deep fry ....

Today's everyone are health conscious...


so we tried khasta kachodi in AirFryer...

And the result was awesome... we like AirFryer Kachodis only..........................
 Now we have Mouth-watering, healthy and irresistible Kachodis .

Airfryer kachodis are khasta , puffed and cooked properly.....


I am giving a nice recipe of khasta kachodi...so you all can enjoy these kachodis without any gulit............:)


In Uttarpradesh, Khasta kachodis served with spicy aloo curry  and sweet dry pumpkin.


We can enjoy kachodis with green chutney and sweet chutney.....


We can serve kachodis as chaat as well.


You can make kachodis as your desire shape ....










Ingredients :-


For Dal Stuffing


1/4 cup oil

¼ cup yellow moong dal (cleaned, and soaked for 2-3 hrs)
2 tbsp green chili and ginger paste
½ tsp red chili powder

½ teaspoon coriander powder
¾ tsp fennel seeds powder

1/2 tsp cumin seed¼ teaspoon cumin powder / jeera powder
½ tsp dry mango powder / amchur powder
¼ tsp garam masala
1/4 tsp clove powder (optional...)a pinch of hing
1/4 tsp black saltsalt to taste
1/2 cup water

For Dough
2 cup maida / plain flour / all-purpose flour
1/2 cup  oil
1 tsp salt
pinch of soda 
water to knead to dough

                                         

Method :-



Prepare dal stuffing (dal masala)

Soak dal for 2-3 hrs and drain well.
Grind dal in a grinder and make coarsely paste




heat oil in a pan....Add grinded dal...

and stir for 8-10 minutes on medium high gas...
Stir continuously...


then Add water and spices except fennel powder.....

stir for 3-4 minutes more..
Add fennel powder and stir 2-3 minutes more

turn off the gas and remove the pan from the gas and stir more for few seconds

(if pan is hot then dal masala can burn)


Dal Masala is ready...
keep it aside for cool...
now take 1/2 tbsp dal masala and make ladoo(ball) ....

and Repeat it with all........




Lets prepare dough

take a bowl add Maida,  salt and baking soda and mix well.
Now add oil and mix together until all oil mix into the flour . (Dough consistency should be bread crumb)

Add water gradually and knead soft dough ...


Cover dough with damp clothe...for 15 minutes.


Now its time for Air fryer...............................:)


Preheat the airfryer on 180 F for 5 minutes.



Divide the dough into equal parts and make balls...
Roll it and put one dal ball/laddo on the and sealed it properly  and make the ball shape (as seen in pics)




Repeat it with all the dough balls and make kachodis..
Now kachodis are ready to go in airfryer...

Set the temperature 160 F for 12 minutes
Turn the kachodis
Then set the temperature 160 for 10 minutes 
Grease kachodis lightly with oil
then set temperature 180 F for 5 minutes
then turn again and check and then
set temperature 180 F for 5 minutes
Kachodis are ready..
if you want more golden brown you can keep kachodis for more time



Serve kachodis with green chutney and sweet chutney















Similarly, you can make large kachodis...

After filling  kachodis sealed properly and roll it with your palm or roller...and set same temperature as above and make kachodis .
Serve kachodis with aloo sabji..



    














Note :-








1) Dough is very important....please make sure dough consistency should be perfect in term of bread crumbs and softness


2) Masala should be at room temperature.....

    2 cup maida / plain flour / all-purpose flour

  2. To prepare the dough you have written "take a bowl, add Maida, rice flour, salt and baking soda and mix well" but rice flour and baking soda are not there under the ingredients for the dough.

      pinch of Soda is mentioned in the recipe, but yes there is no rice flour in this recipe
