Moong Dal Halwa

It is the delicous  and rich dessert 



Ingredients:-

1/2 cup moong dal
1/2 cup ghee
1/2 cup milk

For sugar syrup

1/2 cup sugar (or 3/4 cup)
1 cup water
1 tsp green cardamon powder
1 tsp rose water
4-5 saffron leaves

For Garnishing

Almonds, cashews, pistachios


Ingredients

Soaked the dal for 3-4  hours and drained.
Grind in a grinder to make thick paste. (We need thick paste so we add only 1 tbsp water during grinding)




Now prepare sugar syrup.
Add sugar and water in a pan and  boil it until all sugar resolve (we don't need any thread consistency) (It will take 5-6 minutes)



Add cardamon powder, rose water and saffron. Turn off the gas.

Take  a non-stick pan. Add ghee and moong dal paste. Mix well. stir the dal on medium gas.
With the help of spatula fold the paste over and press again. Continuously repeat until dal will become light brown in color. ( It will take around 20-25 minutes).

Need to do with patiently :)









Add milk and cook it for 5 minutes more .Now add sugar syrup . mix well cook it on the medium low gas for 5-6 minutes. Garnish with dryfruits. Serve hot .


Tips:-

While grinding dal ,use less water otherwise dal with be come in liquid form.
Stir dal on medium heat , otherwise it will burnt.

In a similar way you can make moong dal barfi , for this you need to make two thread consistency in syrup . Grease any tray. Pour the batter over the tray and cool down for sometime then cut the pieces.

Also can add coconut powder.
