Sahi Toast is delicious dessert......it is made from bread and covered with layer of rabdi
Serving 20
Ingredients
10 Bread pieces (I am using brown bread)
oil/ghee to fry
For Sugar syrup
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup water
1 tsp cardamon powder
For Rabdi
1 pint or 473 ml heavy whipping Cream or full cream
2-3 tbsp sugar or as per taste
2 tbsp shredded Paneer
some chopped dry fruits (cashew, almonds, pistachio)
1 tsp Cardamom powder
3-4 string of Saffron
Method
Heat oil/ghee in a pan for fry. Oil/ghee should be medium hot.
Just cut the breads diagonally into two pieces
fry them on medium gas until it become crispy and golden brown in color.
Now make the sugar syrup
Take a pan add water and sugar and stir it until one thread consistency occur.
Add cardamon powder.
Turn off the gas.
Now take one piece of bread put it into sugar syrup for 8-10 seconds and then keep bread in another bowl or plate.
Follow the same procedure with other bread pieces.
Now keep bread aside for cool temperature or you can put it in fridge for 2-3 hrs..(It will be become more crispy)
Now make rabdi
Turn on the gas. Take a pan . Add cream , sugar and paneer ..boil it for 6-7 minute on medium gas or until it become thick.
Add chopped pistacio, dry fruits and Saffron string..boil it for 1-2 minutes more..turn off the gas.
Keep aside for cooling and after you can put it also in fridge.
Spread one table spoon of rabdi on bread and garnish with some dryfruits(optional)
Same with rest
(After sugar syrup process you can keep bread in freeze and when ever you want to eat just take out from fridge and spread rabdi and serve it. so bread will not be soggy it will still remain crispy.)
